Bankers Lamps

The green banker’s lamp originally gained its popularity in the 1800’s when George Westinghouse, and the Westinghouse Corporation, started to produce and use them. The first banker’s lamps were constructed with dark green glass which sat atop a beautifully construction base of solid brass. Scientific studies have suggested green is actually the perfect color for banker’s lamp shades, as it inspires creativity, and call this the “green effect.” The “green effect” could explain why banker’s lamps are often found on pianos, in art galleries and other areas where creative people flourish and perform.
