Bienaise
Founded in Paris in 1921 by American brothers Frank and Harry Nelson, Bienaise was a French manufacturer specialising in functional seating for industrial, commercial and office environments.
The company became particularly recognised for its robust, ergonomically designed stools and chairs, combining practical engineering with simple, utilitarian forms. During the 1930s and 1950s, Bienaise produced a range of adjustable seating featuring solid steel frames, shaped wooden seats and mechanical height-adjustment systems.
Today, original Bienaise furniture is appreciated for its distinctive French industrial aesthetic, quality craftsmanship and functional design. These characteristics are particularly evident in the company's 1950s workshop stools, which remain both practical and visually striking in contemporary interiors.
