Originally trained as an ornamental metalworker, he brought a deeply structural, experimental, and sculptural sensibility to Scandinavian illumination design. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e He began his career as an authorized blacksmith and artisan metalsmith. This gave him a profound, hands-on mastery over metals like copper, brass, and steel. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e It is widely believed that he conceptualised lighting for established legacy brands such as Fog \u0026amp; Mørup and Lyfa during the early 1950s.
